Tastes of the Valleys is a full-service wine bar. That means that unlike "tasting rooms" you can take a load off your feet and relax in our comfortable cellar-like atmosphere

And since we are a bar, you don't have to conform to the whims of a tasting room - you can choose to:

• Try one of our custom flights - six one ounce (plus) tastes.
• Or you can custom design your own flight.
• You can even order wine by the glass, taste, or bottle.
• Or you can purchase a whole bunch of wine (our personal favorite) to take with you. We ship too!

Our history

Tastes of the Valleys started with an idea to convert a seldom used basement area in an historic Solvang building. Actually we are not the first wine bar to operate in this location. Legend has it that Pierre LaFond had a tasting room in this very space.

The original room was actually part of the building with no access from the exterior. Our perfect storybook walkway was just a plain old sidewalk before we dug down to create the gentle slope.

The door you see was an exterior wall of the building. We purchased antique doors and custom cut an opening.

The floors are original except they were coated with "Fixall" so we sanded them down to what you see.

The inside walls were covered with fabric paneling. Removing the fabric paneling surprised us all when we discovered the original rock wall.

The fireplace - yep, it was there.

So, how long do you think we have been open. The wine bar looks like it has been there for years, doesn't it? We actually finished our construction and opened for business on January 12, 2007!

Pismo Beach

We opened our second location in Pismo Beach in 2010 at the beautiul Valentina Inn, next to Guiseppe's Restaurant.

  Take the exit for Hwy 246 East. We're about 7 minutes off the Highway, just past the park with the bandstand and before the Alisal Rd stoplight.

  From Santa Ynez/Hwy 154
  Take 246 West into Solvang. 1/2 bock past the Alisal Rd stoplight, look for our sign on the left.

  From San francisco - travel 240 miles on US 101 South - take CA 1 South towards Pismo Beach - Turn left on Price Street - we located between Honeymoon Cafe and Guiseppe's Restaurant on the right.
  
  From Los Angeles - travel 176 miles South on US 101 - take the Price Street exit - travel less than a mile to our location on the left in the Valentina Inn. We are just past Guiseppe's Restaurant.

We are easy to find - and hard to leave! Just ask anyone. We are "under the Mole Hole" and next to Bulldog Cafe.
